Hamas Warns of Surprise Attack on Israel in Hours
(FNA)- The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, warned of launching a surprise attack on Israel in the next few hours.
Aka new website quoted the Israeli TV as saying that Hamas has warned the regime to wait for a surprise attack later today.
Hamas fired nearly 700 rockets and mortars at Israel last week and said it wouldn't be the first to cease fire. The resistance group also launched 10 rockets aimed at Tel Aviv.
Sirens sounded across central Israel as people rushed for cover from the rockets. In Gaza, Palestinians stood at rooftops chanting Allah Akbar (God is great), cries that also echoed over mosque loudspeakers.
Israel also targeted several civilian institutions, widening its range of targets. Palestinian officials said this included a technical college, a media office, a mental hospital, a clinic for the disabled, a small Kuwait-funded charity and a branch of an Islamic bank.
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for seven consecutive days, killing at least 173 people and injuring more than 1,230 others.
According to the UN, 77% of the victims in Gaza are civilian and defenseless people.
