Iran to extend oil pipelines by 420km
Tehran, July 13, IRNA - The Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) will extend the length of its pipelines to 14,400 kilometers by the end of the Iranian year (ending March 20, 2015) said the companyˈs managing director.
Abbasali Jafari said that the laying of the remaining 420 km of the Abadan-Rey oil pipeline is expected to be completed by the National Iranian Oil Construction and Engineering Company (NIOEC) by the end of the year, SHANA reported on Sunday.
He said that the IOPTC handles preparation works on pipelines like installation of temporary pumping facilities before they can be operated.
The IOPTC is also engaged with repairing of various oil pipelines in the country like the Sanzab-Tange Fani pipeline which is a part of the Abadan-Rey pipeline.
