Iranian, Armenian FMs Meet in New York

(FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian met at the UN Headquarters in New York to discuss bilateral ties and regional and international issues.

During the talks held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting, the two sides explored avenues for the further expansion of the bilateral relations.

The two sides also conferred on regional development, specially in the Caucasus and stronger regional and multilateral cooperation.

Iran has long taken various diplomatic initiatives to expand its ties with the neighboring states.

In recent years, Iran and its Northern neighbor Armenia have boosted cooperation, signed agreements on energy cooperation and agreed to cooperate in technology and research and to enhance ties in commerce and economy.
