(MNA) – Foreign media outlets claimed that three Iranian pilgrims were killed in Damascus, Syria, on Monday.
The three Iranian nationals were among the 47 Iranian pilgrims who were kidnapped on their way to Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque in the suburb of Damascus on Sunday.

The Syrian opposition groups have claimed that the pilgrims were killed during the bombardment of Damascus by the Syrian troops.

The abductees had visited Syria without the authorization of the related bodies.

Some reports have claimed that insurgent groups are using the Iranian pilgrims as human shield.

According to Al Arabiya, the armed groups have threatened to kill all Iranian pilgrims if the Syrian Army does not stop attacks against them.

Iran has asked Turkey and Qatar to help release the abducted people.
