'China can play key role in creating new world order'

(MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said unfortunately the United States has always tried to stir up hatred and hostility in the world in order to dominate the globe.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks in an address to a gathering of students at Peking University in Beijing on Wednesday.

Commenting on the killing of a large number of people in Iraq and Afghanistan by the U.S. forces and the killing of Palestinians by the Israeli forces, Ahmadinejad said that these acts have their roots in the forces’ hearts, which are full of hatred.

All the problems facing human society throughout history stem from lack of awareness and justice in the lives of humans, he said, adding that wise rulers that love the people and observe moral virtues can enhance awareness and establish justice in the world.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president also commented on the cultural and historical ties between the Iranian and Chinese people and said that both nations have great experience of campaign against colonialist powers in the past.

He added, “The Iranian and Chinese nations have always followed that path and today, the two countries’ governments… are making every effort to promote justice and kindness throughout the world.”

China can play a key role in creating new world order

In a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 12th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Ahmadinejad said that the current world order is undergoing deep and rapid changes toward the establishment of a just order and China can play a major role in this regard.

During the meeting, Ahmadinejad commented on the determination of the two countries’ officials to consolidate ties and said that Tehran and Beijing have great potential which should be utilized to increase cooperation.

On the sidelines of the SCO meeting on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad also held meetings with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

During the meetings the two sides held talks on various issues including the latest developments in the region and the world as well as bilateral ties.

Ahmadinejad, at the head of a high-ranking delegation, arrived in China on Tuesday evening in order to attend the SCO meeting, which opened on Wednesday and closes on Thursday.

The SCO is an intergovernmental security organization that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Iran, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan are observer states of the organization.
