Iranian Oil Minister Meets Senior Iraqi Officials
(FNA)- Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi held separate meetings with senior Iraqi officials, including Iraqi Prime Minister Nour al-Maliki, and discussed the two countries' bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interests.
In his meeting with Maliki on Saturday, the Iranian oil minister stressed the need to reach a unified position on the oil production quota in the upcoming summit of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The two officials also emphasized on the need for all OPEC members to observe their production quota assigned by the organization.
The talks precede OPEC's 161st ordinary meeting due to be held in Vienna on June 14.
The Iranian minister also held discussions with Iraqi Oil Minister Abdulkareem Liaybi, mainly focusing on the development of joint oil fields.
