(FNA)- The enemies of Iran are fearing the Islamic identity of the country rather than its nuclear capabilities, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday.

"What the enemies of Iran fear, and must fear, is not a nuclear Iran but the Islamic Iran," Ayatollah Khamenei stated, addressing a large crowd of people at Imam Khomeini's mausoleum South of Tehran on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic.

The Leader underscored that the Islamic Republic of Iran is today more powerful than ever before in its history.

Referring to Iran's achievements during the last three decades since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei said that one of the examples of the progress of the Iranian nation is overcoming all political, military, security and economic challenges that aimed to destroy the establishment over the past 33 years.

As regards western pressures and sanctions against the country, the Leader stressed that the sanctions will never block the nation's progress.

"If we stop, we will stay backward, and if we take pride in the accomplishments, we will fall."

Iran has made huge achievements in various fields of science and technology, from nuclear knowledge to stem cell and Nano technology.

In a most recent case, Iran in February unveiled 21 new home-made achievements and projects in defensive and technological fields.

The projects were unveiled on the occasion of the Ten-Day Dawn, celebrating the victor of the Islamic Revolution back in 1979.

Speaking to reporters at the time, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said that nine production lines have been inaugurated, which include those for advanced laser-guided systems of a cannon type, guiding systems of an anti-armor missile, a warning apparatus of a laser defense system meant to protect sensitive and important areas in the country, three advanced radars and a powerful microwave lamp.

He added that eight other products including thermal cameras, laser systems, air-defense, and electronic communications for submarines were delivered to Iran's Armed Forces.

The minister reiterated that the achievements would considerably increase Iran's defense powers.
