President Ahmadinejad to visit Brazil soon
TEHRAN, April 16 (MNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will soon start a tour of Brazil and some other South American countries including Peru.
It will be Ahmadinejad’s first visit to Brazil since Dilma Rousseff took power in January 2011 in the largest South American country.
The relations between Tehran and Brasilia expanded under President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Lula da Silva, along with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, brokered a nuclear fuel deal with Tehran on May 17, 2010 according to which Iran was to ship 1200 kilograms of its low-enriched uranium to Turkey to be exchanged for 120 kilograms of 20 percent enriched nuclear fuel to power the Tehran research reactor, which produces radioisotopes for cancer treatment. However the deal was aborted as the West rejected it.
