Iranians to vote in 9th parliamentary polls

Iranian people will vote on Friday in the ninth parliamentary elections with over 47,000 polling stations due to open at 8 o'clock nationwide to collect the ballots.

Over 48 million Iranian voters are eligible to vote with more than 3,400 standing race for 290 parliamentary seats. A high voter turnout is expected. 

Electoral campaign for the Majlis elections officially drew to a close at eight o'clock Thursday. Majlis candidates launched the weeklong campaign last Thursday by introducing their plans to the public. 

Meanwhile, Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday the Iranian nation will slap the hegemonic powers hard in the face in the upcoming elections. Ayatollah Khamenei told a large number of people from different walks of life that the nation will demonstrate its firm will to fight enemies through massive participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. 
 
The IR Leader said the US, the West and the Zionist regime wish to stop the Iranian nation from moving in its path which has led to awakening of the Islamic world and made Iran a role model for other Muslim nations.
