Iran Officially Launches Hispan TV

Cultural Heritage News: The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has inaugurated the Spanish-language international HD channel, Hispan TV, which broadcasts round-the-clock news, entertainment, and educational programs.

 

The 24/7 television network was launched during an inauguration ceremony in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday.

 

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed the inauguration ceremony of the Spanish-language channel via video link. The ceremony was attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarghami, and Head of the IRIB World Service Mohammad Sarafraz as well as ambassadors and representatives from Latin American countries.

 

Hispan TV, which can also be viewed on mobile phones and the Internet, had earlier gone on air with a limited broadcast in December.

 

It is the third specialized channel launched by the IRIB after the Arabic language Al-Alam television network and the 24-hour English-language Press TV.

 

The channel broadcasts on Hispasat 1E Europe, frequency: 12265 MHz, vertical polarization, symbol rate: 27500, FEC 5/6; Hispasat 1C Americas, frequency: 12172 MHz, horizontal position, symbol rate: 27500, FEC 3/4.

 

It can also be received on NSS 806, frequency: 3803 MHz, horizontal position, symbol rate: 27500, FEC 3/4; Intelsat 9, frequency: 3840 MHz, vertical position, symbol rate: 27690, FEC 7/8 and HotBird, Frequency: 12380 MHz, vertical position, Symbol rate: 27500, FEC 3/4.
