MPs suggest meeting on depreciation of the rial
Mehr News – MPs Elyas Naderan and Ahmad Tavakkoli had suggested that an extraordinary Majlis meeting be held to discuss the fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and the depreciation of the national currency against the dollar in order to help rescue the national economy.
The meeting was scheduled to be held on Sunday and Central Bank of Iran Governor Mahmoud Bahmani was due to attend.
However, it was cancelled since Bahmani did not show up.
Deputy Majlis Speaker Mohammad Reza Bahonar said on Sunday that Bahmani’s decision not to attend the meeting was “unjustified”.
