PJAK kills a member of Iran Basij force
IRIB - The PJAK terrorist group has killed a member of the Basij force of the Islamic Republic in northwestern Iran.
The Basij member, identified as Farhad Mahdi, was killed near the city of Baneh in Kordestan province in an operation against the group.
Basij forces killed four PJAK members and wounded several others during the operation.
Members of the PJAK terrorist group -- an offshoot of the PKK regularly engage in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.
PJAK launches its attacks from Iraq's Qandil Mountains in the areas under the control of Kurdistan Regional Government.
