Tehran’s Daily Newspaper Review
Yesterday was the anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Revolution in 1979, a day that coincided with the resignation of Hosni Mubarak from power in Egypt –and a day of fun for Iranian newspapers, which played verbal games with the name of the Egyptian despot (Mubarak means blessed in Arabic/Persian.) However, the widening gap between Ahmadinejad on the one hand, and the Larijani brothers (who rule over the judiciary and legislative powers) and Hashemi Rafsanjani on the other hand, trickled down into the resolution issued at the end of the rally, calling division a ‘termite’ for the Islamic Revolution. Iran announced that it has mastered nuclear fusion technology, joining the five-member club (which includes the US, Japan, South Korea, France and Australia.)
