(Tasnim) – A senior Iranian negotiator announced that the new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the Group 5+1 will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi told the Tasnim News Agency that the negotiations between Iran and six world powers (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) will be held in Geneva on December 17 at the deputy level.

He went on to say that there will be bilateral talks between negotiators of Iran and the Group 5+1 starting on Monday.

Earlier on Thursday, Russian Sputnik news agency quoted spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) as saying that Iranian negotiators are to leave Tehran for Geneva on December 15 to resume talks on the country's peaceful nuclear program.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) wrapped up seven days of intensive nuclear talks in Vienna on November 24 without securing a long-awaited comprehensive deal.

They decided to extend talks on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program for seven more months.
