Iran conducts one-day air defense drill in Chabahar

ran has carried out a one-day air defense exercise in the country's southeastern region of Chabahar.

The drill, dubbed Mesbaholhoda, primarily involved the Chabahar air defence units, said Deputy Commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard on Saturday.

“This maneuver was managed in an integrated manner employing the available human resources and equipment and was carried out with a focus on countering the psychological operations of the enemy by using the tactics of power, speed and accuracy in conducting operations,” Sabahifard said.

Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base holds periodic exercises in all air defense units across the country to keep its forces ready for critical conditions, the commander added.

He also assessed as "favorable" the readiness of various components of Iran’s air defense force, adding that the units' preparedness is subjected to regular testing.

In recent years,the Islamic Republic has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

Earlier this week, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili announced plans to unveil the country’s latest long-range and medium-range missile systems in the coming weeks.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other countries that its military might poses no threat to other states, insisting that the country’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
