Zarif’s Great Accomplishment

The Vienna-3 negotiations are significant because this is somehow the last step before the final drafting of a nuclear agreement. Nevertheless, Vienna-3 will clarify what the differences and the common points are.

Some of these differences can easily be resolved but some would need time and more dialogue and expertise to reach common points. Therefore, these negotiations are important because both sides will be able to draw their future perspective based on them.

In other words, it can be said that the agreements which are reached in Vienna-3 are the guiding lights of future negotiations. Of course, the issue of writing an agreement is a difficult and time-consuming task. It is obvious that when negotiations enter the details of issues, the parties feel the most pressure and this takes the energy of the negotiators. Experts believe that the Iranian party has, hitherto, acted with prudence and wisdom and the analysts expect that the Iranian negotiators will take the next steps with intelligence as well.

Under the present conditions, there are numerous positive points and at the same time concerns about the continuation of the talks. The conditions that could pave the way for reaching an agreement are Iran’s present international status, the issue of Syria and the developments in Ukraine which have created a serious dispute and competition between the West and Russia and are indicative of the positive conditions to Iran’s benefit. Many believe that the issue of Ukraine has entered the world into a soft war. Of course, the crisis in Ukraine is very different from the cold war of the past decades but it somehow reflects the old rivalries and disputes. This issue has created another atmosphere which shows Iran’s importance in the areas of geopolitics and energy. Thus, one could claim that the international atmosphere is a strong point for Iran’s political interactions in the international scene.

Besides the international atmosphere, the image which Iran’s diplomacy has presented to the world makes the return to the past conditions impossible for the opponents of Iran’s policies. Alongside these positive points and, of course, the capabilities of Iran’s negotiating team, there are also certain issues of concern; the crisis in Ukraine has created special conditions which could increase the differences between the US and Russia and might show its negative impacts on negotiations. Thus, it could be said that this crisis could have both positive and negative impacts on Iran’s nuclear dossier. The other issue is the existence of the Zionist lobbies that exert pressure on the American negotiators and disrupt the trend of negotiations.

The Zionist lobbies have already begun their activities in this regard and intend to impact the trend of issuing a visa for Iran’s representative to the UN who has recently been introduced. This issue is a small example of the pressure which the Zionist lobbies exert on the negotiations. On one hand, it must not be forgotten that the Arab states of the region and the Zionist regime are certainly dissatisfied by the normalization of Iran’s nuclear dossier, thus, there are numerous complex activities and propaganda aimed at disrupting the nuclear negotiations and a nuclear agreement and the Zionist-Arab lobby is very active in this regard. Of course, the western countries are well aware of the fact that the economic interests of Europe and the US in the normalization of their relations with Iran will be much more than the past and even the present conditions and the international conditions will no longer allow the enemies of Iran to find new excuses.
